We hope that you consider joining our happy band of bards and musicians. We are a diverse group of poets and poetry lovers with a common interest and fabulous comradery. Quite a number of our poets play musical instruments and some are singers, all are welcome. We enjoy each other’s poetry and the interaction with other members.
Beginner poets are welcomed and offered all sorts of assistance as appropriate and if wanted. Performing in front of your fellow members is not only gratifying, it helps develop your unique style of performance. Most are nervous at the start but this soon fades as you get more used to us and the mic. Many of our group do regular performance gigs. We meet twice per month normally, 1st and 3rd Sundays from 9.00 am at Old Petrie Town in the Men’s Shed building. Follow the signs ☺
North Pine Bush Poets have been supporting local and other charities for quite a while now. The last fund raising concert raised over $14,000 for The Lions Club of Winton. The funds were specifically to assist with drought relief. Whilst not running as a service club ourselves we have a strong sense of community. Winton in Western Queensland is a sister city to Redcliffe in the MBRC area. Moreton Bay regional Council are strong supporters of our club and we try to pay them back at every opportunity.
NPBP have previously run workshops for members which were very well received and attended. The club are constantly looking at ways to progress the art of writing and sometimes performing bush poetry.
Many members have been referred to performance gigs at nursing homes, aged care facilities and bigger paid gigs according to their confidence and abilities.
